Community Dinners are Back
The 2017-2018 weekly dinners are back with the first dinner having started in late October and then continuing through the winter months. Different faith and community groups host the dinners each week at the Methodist church. In the photos shown here the Blackfoot LDS Young Single Adult wards combined to prepare and serve a nice meal of turkey with gravy over potatoes, salad, corn, a roll, and a pumpkin dessert – perfect for a Thanksgiving week. The menu changes each week with a wide variety of entrees. Most meals include entertainment and this night was no exception. Logan Lindholm sang to the delight of all in attendance. For the children there is a Kids Korner where children are able to prepare crafts and have fun while the parent eat. On this night the kids made paper bag turkeys to take home.
Each year CDT also hosts a Thanksgiving Day meal with baked turkey and all the trimmings and this year will be no exception. Those struggling to provide a meal or those just needing a place to share the holiday with others are invited to come by. Everyone is welcome.
At this time of year the CDT board would like to give thanks to all the wonderful groups and all the regular volunteers that support the dinners and the community. They are very much appreciated!
