July 2019 – Once again a fun time was had by all who attended this year’s BBQ Picnic! This annual event, held on the 2nd Tuesday in July at Courthouse Square, is a fun evening of food, music, and fellowship. This year’s attendees were treated to a great meal of burgers, hot dogs, chips, carrots and ice cream bars. A big thank you goes to our wonderful volunteer chefs!
Once again CDT invited the community to come together for a summer barbecue held at Courthouse Park. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. The 2017-2018 weekly dinners are back with the first dinner having started in late October and then continuing through the winter months. We are so glad that a new venue allows us to return to in person dining on Tuesday nights! We continue to do what we can to provide a safe meal – and you can still request a take-out meal if you need to, but the drive through format has returned to in person dining, and we are so glad for the fellowship that provides.
Costs of our Tuesday night dinners have increased this year in order to prepare the meals as “take-out” for our drive-by service (necessary because of covid-19 precautions). We are so grateful for a $1000 donation we received from the Blackfoot branch of Zions Bank to help offset those additional costs!
A wonderful turkey dinner was served to 205 guests by CDT leaders, their families, and other volunteers on a beautiful Thanksgiving Day. The meal included sliced turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, rolls, cranberries, vegetables and pumpkin deserts. Piano, violin and guitar music was provided as a background to the dinner.
