Final Dinner of the Season

IMG_3515The final Tuesday night dinner was served to a record-breaking 356 people and the 2013-2014 season has been brought to a very successful close.  The Catholic Church group prepared a wonderful meal of enchiladas, refried beans, rice, salad, chips, salsa, homemade tortilla’s and Tres Leche  (3 milk) cake.

The Kid’s Korner made Twinkie cars with an Easter bunny driver.  116 children enjoyed this fun project under the direction of Debbie Hemmett, Peggy, Holly, Pastor Carolyn, and many others.

Elizabeth Fields expressed thanks from the entire CDT Board when she said, “Thanks again to all of you for your hard work and smiling faces! The article in today’s paper makes you realize how we have touched so many people and made a huge difference in this wonderful community we live in.  If CDT keeps growing, pretty soon everybody in our community will be able to say that CDT has touched them in one way or another—the dinners, the pantry, the garden.”

With  dinners completed we are now looking forward to preparing the Community Garden on May 10th, the Tommy Vaughn’s Marathon on May 17th, the July picnic, the regular weekly Food Pantry, and more!
