Monday, December 21st cars were lined up in 3 rows at the Eastern Idaho State Fairgrounds as they waited for the distribution of the Christmas food boxes to begin. Because of covid-19 precautions, the distribution was a bit different this year – drive through only. But due to the generosity of so many in our local community, we were able to share much needed food with financially challenged in our community.
December 15, 2020 – Today Mayor Marc Carroll donated his winnings in the ‘High Five’ Mayor’s Walking Challenge to the Blackfoot Food Pantry. This challenge was sponsored by Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health Inc.
Once again, Christmas boxes will be distributed at the Eastern Idaho State Fair Grounds – but due to covid precautions they will be pre-filled boxes (one per address) drive-through fashion.

Thanksgiving was different this year – a drive-by rather than a sit-down dinner. While we look forward to the time when we can resume our in-person dinners, we’re grateful for the creativity and flexibility demonstrated by our volunteers, enabling us to provide this take-out style dinner in this time of covid-related restrictions.
