Strengthening ResiliencyA Crash Course in Wellness

The aim of this course is to become more resilient; to utilize the tools, practices and lifestyle behaviors which enhance health and wellness. The information you will receive has been shown to strengthen a person physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually; and will help you become the best version of yourself!

The instructor for this course will be Dr. Michael Harris from Bingham Memorial Hospital.

Successful 14th Annual Tater Trot (2024)

The Blackfoot Rotary Club partnered again this year with CDT, to host the 14th annual Tater Trot, held October 12th at Jensen’s Grove. It was a beautiful Fall Day with just under 100 runners and walkers supporting these great organizations. This event brought in $9,664 for Christmas boxes and local service projects.

Corn Processing Day – 2024

With another terrific donation from Richard Johnson, volunteers from throughout the community gathered on Saturday, September 14th to husk, clean, blanche, remove kernels, and process newly harvested corn for the Community Dinner Table dinners and the Blackfoot Food Pantry. 

DL Evans Bank Grand Opening – Donates $2,500

On August 8, 2024 DL Evans Bank celebrated the grand opening of their new Blackfoot Branch.  They selected two charities to each receive a $2,500 check.  The Community Dinner Table is grateful to be one of those selected.

Challenge Hunger Campaign Garners $30,000

CDT partnered with Bingham Ag Services and the Hall Foundation in a fund-raising effort to help feed those in need in our community.  This is our second year participating in the Challenge Hunger Campaign.  We worked with Denise Smith from Bingham Ag to encourage local businesses, banks, clubs and individuals to donate with the added promise that any donations would be matched by the Hall Foundation up to $50,000.  This year, with the matching funds, over $30,000 was raised!

2024 CDT Summer Picnic

On July 9th the CDT board hosted the annual summer bar-be-que picnic at Courthouse Square.  It was a chance to share food, friendship and entertainment with the community.  A big thanks to all that contributed to the success of the picnic.

Dinner Season Ends – 95,426 Meals Served over 16 Years

On Tuesday night, (April 2nd) the final dinner for the 2023-2024 season was served.  This marks the 16th year that CDT has been serving dinners during the winter months to the hungry, those with food insecurities, and those needing friendly interaction with others.  Bingham Memorial Hospital hosted a great dinner that night. With this final dinner there have been a total of 95,426 meals served through the weekly dinner program.

Blackfoot Elks Lodge makes Donation

The  Blackfoot Elks Lodge (#1416) has been hosting dinners at the Community Dinner Table for over 6 years and this year was no exception.  In addition to providing a great meal for 174 guests on the evening of March 26th, the Elks also presented CDT leadership with a check for $6,500! 


DYW Contestants Donate Time and Service to Pantry

In January, young women competing in the Blackfoot Distinguished Young Women program donated over 300 lbs. of food and gave service to the Blackfoot Community Food Pantry.

Blackfoot 6th Grade Donates 151 Turkeys and over $15,000 to Pantry

The Blackfoot 6th Grade has been donating turkeys and raising funds for 29 years to help families at Christmas. Through classroom competitions, coins, lunch money, and donations from local businesses the school was able to raise over $19,000 to be used for Christmas food boxes and for other food supplies this year.


Community-wide Food Drives

Food drives where held across all areas of Blackfoot and parts of Bingham County on several days in September. These drives are the life-blood of the pantry and provide the food that is given to the hungry each week. Thanks to the great volunteers that helped and a great community that donated generously!
