Governor’s Commission Recognizes CDT

 

On NovembeBrightest Star photo2r 13th, the Community Dinner Table was honored as one of the top 3 “volunteer “organizations” in Idaho.  Serve Idaho, the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, is a division of the Idaho Department of Labor.  Serve Idaho encourages volunteerism and service throughout Idaho.

Pictured here (L to R) are Gov. Butch Otter, CDT Board members – Lee Hammett, Ronda Cheatham, Ron Thompson, and 1st Lady Lori Otter.   Board members Dale Christiansen, Chris Cannon, Elizabeth Fields, Marilyn Andersen and Reverend Carolyn Bowers could not attend.

 

The Governor and First Lady, Lori Otter hosted the “Brightest Star Awards in Boise Wednesday afternoon.  During the Ceremony, the top three in seven categories were honored – Corporations, Small Businesses, Organizations, Schools, Students, Individuals and Seniors.  In the “organization” category, the Community Dinner Table, Inc. (CDT) was chosen as one of the top 3 volunteer organizations in the State.  

The Brightest Star Awards are based on volunteer contributions.  CDT (in its 6th season) has stimulated thousands of hours of volunteer time through the years, all of which are contributed by committed, local faith groups and friends – the true honorees.
