In September, multiple food drives where held over several days across Blackfoot and parts of Bingham County. These drives are the life-blood of the pantry and provide the food and other products that are used throughout the year. A drive was held on September 12th and another on September 23rd. For 9 years, Grove City Gardens has donated 5,000 ears of corn to CDT for use at our Tuesday Night Dinners. Volunteers pick, husk, wash, blanch, cool, strip the corn off the cobs, package and freeze 150 gallons of corn in less than 3 hours. The corn is used for the dinners and as give-away…
