Great 2023 Tator Trot – Nets $7,400 for Christmas Boxes and Service Projects

The Blackfoot Rotary club partnered again this year with the Community Dinner Table (CDT), to host the 13th annual Tater Trot, held October 14th at Jensen’s Grove.  It was a beautiful Fall Day and our 108 runners and walkers had a great time.

We would like to thank all our supporters of this annual event.  The runners, walkers, families and yes, even cows, cheese and cowboys!  (Thank you Glanbia for your team spirit!)  We could not make this a success without all of our volunteers, sponsors and contributors of the raffle prizes.  As always, CDT provided a wonderful hot baked potato at the end of the race.

This year, the success of the Tater Trot will be able to provide Christmas boxes for over 300 families in Bingham County.  The Rotary Club has also identified several projects that will support our schools, health, hunger and humanity needs and continue our support to graduating seniors.  For information on these projects, please contact the Blackfoot Community Food Pantry (www.communitydinnertable.org) or the Blackfoot Rotary Club.  Below is a list of our corporate and individual supporters who helped make this year’s event a success:

We sincerely appreciate all the businesses that donated raffle prizes!

We would also like to note the retirement from the board of directors of CDT, Christian Utley.  Christian has been the driving force behind the Tater Trot for several years and has guided it to the success that it has become.  We wish him well in his future endeavors and thank him for all he has given to our community.

The CDT Tuesday night dinners will start November 7th at the Methodist Church.  Food and fellowship are from 5:00-6:30 pm.

The Rotary Club has been in Blackfoot for over 100 years, established in 1919 and have provided numerous service project in and around Bingham County.  Blackfoot Rotary is a member of Rotary International with over 46,000 clubs worldwide.  The club meets weekly on Tuesday, noon at Tommy Vaughn’s, for more information please contact Colleen Hancock at 208-920-0764.

The Partnership between the Community Dinner Table and Blackfoot Rotary Club will enable both groups to continue to give back to our community and foster friendship and peace in this era of such uncertainty.

Mark your calendars for October 12, 2024 for the 14th annual TATER TROT!
